Christ is found in the Temple

Part of the Any series.

Luke 2:41-52 Jesus is left behind and found at the temple.
We have little of Jesus’s adolescent life in the Bible
Matt 2:13-2:23, Luke 2:39-40 Jesus and His family are on the run then return to Nazareth
So why would Luke include the account of Jesus being found at the temple in the gospel at all?
Some would say because it makes the age of 12 significant as an age of accountability inferring Christ was disobedient to His parents breaking Exodus 20:12 but not accountable for doing so because of age
Psalm 58:2-3 The wicked go astray as soon as they are born
But how can a child sin if they don’t know what is right or wrong yet
James 4:17 It is a sin to not do what we know is good
Prov 20:11 Even a child knows right and wrong
But if a child can sin then how can children go to heaven?
Rom 5:12-21 Every one save Christ has sinned but those transgressions are not against us
2 Cor 5:18-19 Christ reconciled the world to God, not just believers
John 16:8-15 All things including children are Christ’s but judgment comes for not believing in Him
Jeremiah 1:4-8 God knows us before creating us in the womb and knows our hearts
Rom 8:29-39 The elect cannot be separated from Christ
2 Sam 12:22-23 David was confident in where his child would be going
But if children can sin, does that mean that Christ sinned in the temple situation? No most certainly not
2 Cor 5:21 Christ knew no sin so it would be a contradiction if He had sinned at the temple
Luke 2:43 Jesus lingered but didn’t hide or purposely defy His parents
Luke 2:49-50 Jesus was doing the work of His Father but He wasn’t talking of Joseph His step-father
Heb 5:4-14 Jesus learned obedience to His Father, God, and was an example to us to learn as well
