John 15:18-16:4 Jesus warns of the persecution of the saints that is coming.
Acts 6:8-10 Stephen defends the Word in the synagogues
Acts 6:11-14 Just like with Jesus, false witnesses are used against Stephen
Acts 6:13-14 Accusations:
Blasphemy against the temple (Jesus will destroy this temple)
Blasphemy against the law (Jesus will change the customs of Moses)
Acts 6:15-7:1 They ask for Stephen to defend himself
Acts 7:2-8 Circumcism was the sign of the Abrahmic covenant that God would give them a land after they were put into slavery and were ready to serve Him
Acts 7:9-16 The patriarchs also rebelled against God but He kept His promise anyway
Acts 7:17-36 God delivers the Jews into and out of slavery
Acts 7:37 God promised a Prophet to them
Acts 7:38-43 Israel still turns from God despite His keeping of the covenant
Acts 7:44-50 Stephen points out the temple is not worthy of God and is not what Jesus talked of.
Acts 7:51-53 Stephen rebukes the leaders for their rebellion
Acts 7:54-60 Stephen is martyred in front of Saul
